UHY appoints new head of corporate tax

Andrew Snowdon has been appointed as partner and head of corporate tax at UHY Hacker Young in the firm's London office

Snowdon was previously a tax partner at MacIntyre Hudson for 14 years.

He has more than 30 years of experience advising clients on tax issues, including corporate tax, research and development tax credits, advising on offshore trusts and employee share plans.

Snowdon said, “UHY Hacker Young has built a reputation as one of the leading corporate tax advisors to UK businesses. The team in London is expanding and it’s a great time to be joining.

“The firm also has an extensive international network and a really strong presence abroad, which I hope to develop further as my role progresses. I see this as an exciting next step in my career.”

In his new role, Snowdon will continue advising and implementing the tax efficient Enterprise Investment Scheme for companies raising finance.

Laurence Sacker, the firm’s managing partner said, “I am really pleased to have Andrew on board. He has a wealth of experience in the tax space which will be highly valuable.”

Last month, the firm announced it was merging with the accountancy firm John A Tuffin & Co, based in Brighton.

The two-partner family practice, run by Roger and Peter Tuffin in Brighton is moving in and teaming up with UHY’s office in Hove.
