Grant Thornton appoints new head of forensic investigations

Grant Thornton has appointed Barry Dean as its new head of forensic investigations for the public sector

In a bid to strengthen its forensic and investigation services team, Dean is re-joining the firm, where he previously qualified as a chartered accountant.

Dean has 25 years’ experience covering local and central government, NHS, social housing and education. He previously worked for regulators, presenting on fraud risks and leading on counter fraud training.

Will Davies, head of Grant Thornton’s forensic and investigation services, said, “The public sector is under increased pressure to deliver more with less, whilst demonstrating probity with public funds and Barry’s appointment underlines our commitment to help our public sector clients achieve exactly that."

Davies was appointed team leader in February this year and is on charge of seven partners and 100 employees.
