Two directors and 11 staff will move across from FBR to the newly-merged firm which will be known as Wilkins Kennedy.
The partnership is expected to expand the top 20 accountancy firm’s current professional services offering, especially in the cloud services area.
Richard Harvey, director at FBR Accounting, said Wilkins Kennedy was a good match in terms of business ethos and that the merger would enable the business to offer clients wider and more specialist support.
Ian Talbot, Wilkins Kennedy’s managing partner at the Winchester and Romsey offices, said, “The merger will allow us to expand the use of software such as Xero, as the new members of the team will be able to provide additional expertise.”
The merger is Wilkins Kennedy’s third in the last few years. The firm merged with C W Fellowes in Hampshire and Southampton-based Matthews Mist & Co in 2013.
Wilkins Kennedy has a turnover of £38m, with 68 partners and 500 staff in 14 UK offices and one in the Falkland Islands.
