Baldwins continues spree with Cassons purchase

The Midland-based accountancy firm and member of the Cogital Group has ended the year with a final acquisition to shore up its North West offering

The latest takeover of Manchester-based accountants and business advisory firm Cassons takes Baldwins’ revenue to £96m, with 1,00 staff across 60 offices.

Yesterday’s move further cements Baldwin’s presence in the North West, following the firm’s acquisition of CLB Coopers, with offices in Manchester Lancaster in Bolton, last month.

However, this expansion is not contained to the North West, as the firm has been growing across the country recently with acquisitions including Potter Baker in Cornwall, TA Gittins in Shropshire and David Mayers Barnett in Cheltenham.

The firm made its biggest acquisition in October when it acquired Scottish Firm Campbell Dallas, alongside another Scottish frim Springfords.

Baldwins became part of Cogital Group at the end of last year after a merger with Blick Rothernberg and Nordic Firm Visma.

The group, chaired by former Deloitte chief executive John Connelly has been rapidly expanding, with revenue now in excess of £320m across 150 offices.

At the beginning of this month, the group purchased Marleybone-based audit and accountancy firm Shelley Stock Hutter through Blick Rothenberg.
