New vice chair for E&Y global tax practice

David Holtze has been named as the new global vice chair of Ernst & Young’s worldwide $6bn tax practice

David HoltzeHe is currently the tax practice’s chief operating officer.

Holtze joined the US practice in 1981 and became a partner 10 years later.

He moved to London to take on the COO’s role in 2008, looking after the tax practice’s operations and financial results.

Welcoming him on board, E&Y chairman and CEO Jim Turley described him as “a driving force behind the strong market position and solid reputation the tax practice enjoys today”.

“We look forward to him using his deep knowledge of our business to help us attain new levels of success.”

Holtze is taking over from Mark Weinberger.

It was confirmed in January that Weinberger would replace Jim Turley as global CEO and chairman from 30 June 2013 when Turley retires.

He has been the global chairman since 2001.
