PwC tops the list with 40 clients ahead of KPMG which has 24 clients, followed by Deloitte with 18 and EY with 16, according to the latest Adviser Rankings.
The almost total domination of the FTSE 100 audit market by the Big Four continues as they hold all but two contracts, BDO and Grant Thornton have one client apiece.
When you take into account the full stock market however, KPMG comes out on top, holding the contracts of 399 of the 2,172 companies. PwC is the next , with 399 followed by Deloitte (260) and BDO (213).
In the AIM listing, BDO came out on top, despite losing six clients since the last rankings were published in August, followed by Grant Thornton with 150 clients and KPMG with 148.
BDO is also auditor of choice for basic materials clients, despite losing four since August. Deloitte has a narrow lead in the consumer services market, gaining a client in the past three months. KPMG leads the financials markets, which 148 clients and Grant Thornton is the auditor of choice in the tech sector, with 27.
