Psychic Sally hit with almost £3m tax bill

The Revenue has lodged a £2.9m claim against Sally Morgan Enterprises

The company – of which UK psychic Sally Morgan is the director – has now entered into liquidation.

According to a report prepared by liquidators FRP Advisory and filed with Companies House, Morgan owes the Revenue £2,919,354 in relation to taxes and an accelerated payment notice [APN].

“Based on the information available to date and the assumptions made, it is currently uncertain as to the level of monies available to distribute to unsecured creditors,” the report stated.

Morgan, who is in the process of selling her house, is in ongoing discussions with the liquidators and following the sale of her property will be able to offer a settlement for any liabilities due, the FRP report said.

A spokesperson for HMRC said that the revenue does “not comment on identifiable individuals or businesses”.

FRP Advisory and Sally Morgan have been contacted for further comment.

In April, HMRC was accused of extending its APN power after launching a consultation into tackling vehicles designed to move funds offshore.

Later that month, reports surfaced that the Revenue had issued 6,000 APNs by mistake.
