PwC director takes FRC role

Financial Reporting Council executive director Melanie McLaren has gone back to her alma mater PwC to find the regulator’s latest recruit

Marian Williams, a director in PwC’s financial services assurance practice, will join her old boss at the FRC as codes and standards director. She will be working with McLaren to promote high quality corporate governance and reporting.

Welcoming Williams on board, McLaren said, “Marian joins the FRC at an important time as we seek to influence international standard-setters and policymakers across a range of corporate governance, accounting, audit and actuarial issues. Marian brings a broad range of experience in respect of financial services reporting, regulation and governance.”

She joins at the same time as another newcomer, Angus Bogle, who is the FRC’s new director of investor engagement. Bogle will work with Mridul Hegde, executive director for strategy, to work on enhanced engagement between the FRC and the investor community.
